Chapter 10: All Grown Up

We last saw the Dowsey family arriving home with their newest family member, Triana Dowsey. She had both her father’s eyes and hair colour, and was born clumsy and artistic. But how are the older two siblings taking the new addition to the family? And is Gage a better father then Hank was?

You  better bloody believe it. He adored her from the very first moments of her life.

Unlike Hank, Gage couldn’t get enough of being with his daughter. Which Elsa didn’t seem to mind too much, as she actually got to sleep in! He loved her to pieces, and didn’t even mind being the one who toilet trained her.

Of course Elsa was still involved, teaching her how to speak and the meaning of curfew, determined not to have her turn out like her other daughter, Kaywinnit, who never understood what it ment to be home on time.

Kaywinnit was becoming quiet the young lady, spending most of her time over friend’s houses, on the phone, or hanging out with her boyfriend, Mortimer. Or hanging out at a friend’s house while on the phone to Mortimer…

She wasn’t too interested in her baby sister, only really coming into contact with her when she put her to bed a few times.

Joss on the other hand, didn’t like her at all. He would often find simple pleasure in stealing her lolly pops and watching her cry.

Gage wasn’t too impressed with this, and attempted to reason with Joss, but Joss being who he was, simply told Gage to stop being such a goody-two-shoes.

Now the time has come for Triana to become a child. Once again only the family attended her birthday. She grew up into a rather plain looking girl and gained the trait of daredevil.

Being artistic she would often go down to the gallery to see the displays by herself. She was by far the most independent of the three Dowsey children, perhaps because of the daredevil in her?

Triana and Joss still didn’t get along well, even at this age. He would often sneak into her room just to scare the pants off her. Whether it be just as she’s waking up.

Or playing with her doll house.

Triana on the other hand, tried to make friends with him, often enthusing about art.

Kaywinnit was still working on her butterfly collection. She had finally completed it though, with the capture of the elusive Zebra butterfly.

Gage was still as unlucky as ever. One night while attempting to fix the TV he had just broken, disaster struck.

One wrong move and he was electrocuted. And moments after Gage’s limp body had hit the floor that Death themselves showed up.

But much to everyone’s surprise, Death had a funny bone, and actually enjoyed watching Gage’s failed attempts at home repairs.

So, he granted him a second chance.

That night, Triana rolled a wish to have a birthday party. And so she did.

But like her father, she didn’t have the best luck, and her cake set on fire. But once again, Kaywinnit being brave, doused the fire and was out with no one worse for ware.

A few hours later, they bought a new cake, and tried again, this time with more success.

Surprisingly, she turned out to be rather attractive. She also rolled the Flirty trait.

The next day, the three of them got onto the bus to head to school. Triana still wary of her brother Joss, chose to sit next to Kaywinnit.

Meanwhile, Elsa had finally conquered her lifetime wish of becoming a TV anchor superstar.

And Gage had returned home after a failed experiment.

Not much happened for the next few days. Elsa was busy getting new reports for her show, and Gage was helping the kids with homework.

Apart from Triana, who was far more interested in playing her guitar. In fact, school didn’t really factor into her life at all, she often skipped her classes to paint…

…To visit the Art Gallery…

… To take it easy and have a swing.

Or to even protest out front of the Town hall.

Kaywinnit tried to explain to her that in order to get a good paying job, you needed to stick in at school. But Triana just wanted to play foosball.

They quickly stopped playing though, because the guests were arriving. Oh, did I forget to mention it was Kaywinnit’s birthday? Well it is.

The party was well underway when it was time for her to blow out the candles.

She grew up into a beautiful woman, and rolled the trait of great kisser. She also spun the lifetime wish to be Super Popular.

After the guests cleared out, it was time to enjoy some more cake, which was starting to take its tole on the Dowsey’s figures.

So Gage, Joss and Elsa took to doing some exercises, and for once Triana sat down to catch up on some very late homework.

Meanwhile, Kaywinnit was flipping threw yesterdays newspaper for any job openings. She was an ambitious sim, so she chose to take the worst job on offer, a podium polisher in the political career path.

Her first day went extraordinarily well, she left work with a promotion and pay rise. But things were about to take an odd turn for the worst. She was boasting to some stranger about her promotion, when the woman just up and died on her!

Death came promptly to collect the soul. Kaywinnit stuck around to see if he would actually take her away this time, and he did.

Kaywinnit then moved across to the park. Where she came across her old rival, Pauline Wan. Finally old enough to actually do some damage she snuck up behind her, in an attempt to scare her.

It worked better then Kaywinnit hopped, not only was Pauline scared, she had a pack of people laughing at her.

And then it was on like Donkey Kong.

Sadly for Kaywinnit, she had her arse handed to her.

She then proceeded to the bathroom to freak out. Which quickly calmed her nerves.

Meanwhile back at home, Triana was talking up a storm with Kay’s boyfriend, Mortimer, who also recently had his birthday.

On Kaywinnit’s return they both promptly went up to her bedroom.

And made out…

… Among other things.

Triana was attempting homework again, but it was lost on her

So she took up her guitar instead, perhaps to drown out the noises coming from Kaywinnit’s room…

Kaywinnit decided it was a bit awkward being at her house, so they moved it to the Goth house. Although it seems her day wasn’t going to be getting any better. She went in for a kiss from Mort, but he pulled away.

Perhaps a bathroom wasn’t the most romantic setting, and tried again in his bedroom.

Different location, same results… Things seemed to be a bit stormy between the two lovebirds.

Another week, another birthday rolling around.  This time it was Joss’. He decided to go all out and made it a formal wear event. He entertained his guests with his master plot.

And Triana was entertained by a spunky looking guitarist, and Mortimer skulked in the corner.

Once again the time came to make a wish and blow out his candles.

He turned out to be a real ugly duckling. A bit of an eyesore as a teenager, and an eye catcher as a young adult.

The party wound down, and Kaywinnit decided it was time to talk to Mortimer.

Taking the time to explain to him how she was feeling seemed to be lost on this empty headed man. So she did the only thing left to do.

Break up with him, and leave their childhood romance behind. He soon left after that, and Kaywinnit was left alone to ponder if she had made a mistake.

To take her mind off things she sat down with Elsa on the couch, and versed her in an epic race.

Meanwhile Joss was once again showing his younger sister what he thought of her.

Upset she took her bike for a spin down to the park…

Where sheput her guitar skills to some use, busking for some extra cash to buy a cake.

After a relaxing swim, she decided it was time.

So beneath the tree she blew out her candles by herself.  Despite not going to school and only getting a C grade, she had locked in the genius trait.

As the sun was rising, she ran up to her bed and fell asleep, along with her other two siblings…

Now that they are all young adults, who will be the one to carry on the Dowsey name?

Kaywinnit, Oldest of the three? Perhaps Joss, the middle child, and only son? Or will it be Triana, the third born child and half sister of the other two. I leave it to the readers to decide!
