Chapter Six: Married. With Children. July 1, 2009

Elsa’s life seems to be pretty good at the moment, a handsome husband, a beautiful daughter and a well paying job. It just seems like nothing could go wrong with this picture of perfection. Or perhaps things aren’t as squeaky clean as they seem.

Everything is going great in my life, thank you very much! I think falling pregnant was one of the smartest things that I have ever done. I now have a reason to be working so hard. I’m on my third book too! I decided to give the ‘Space Ferret’ series a break and start on a romance/thriller fantasy… novel, it has a bit of everything in it, and the name is “Wind up Doll”

Hank lost his job recently, so he just spends most his time around the house, working on his guitar skills, he’s not so bad, he often goes down to the park with Kaywinnit and busks while she plays.

Ah yes! How is Kaywinnit doing? Enjoying school any more?

She’s doing really well actually; her grades are quite high, getting B’s at the moment. She’s also making alot of friends, and loves sleep overs.

Well that’s nice that she is making friends. How are you and Hank doing?

With Kay out of the house it leaves Hank and I alone, and since we didn’t really have much time to date pre-Kaywinnit, it’s a nice opportunity to do it now!

You’re such a perv.

I am not! He’s my husband! Besides, he didn’t mind.

“Hanky-poos, want to come to the bedroom?”

Ahh. How sweet. I do have to admit you make a nice couple.

Thank you! Everything was going quiet well. Apart from a few times little Kaywinnit decided to sneak out and go exploring in the graveyard. She likes collecting rocks and absolutely adores butterflies.

That girl has odd hobbies.

They aren’t all odd, She also loves computer games~ urg

Elsa. Are you okay?

I.  I don’t feel well, Oh god. Not again, we’ve been so careful!

But it looks like I we weren’t careful enough because later that day, my baby bump was clear and baby was kicking. I sat Hank down and told him, he took the news well. Although I slept alone that night.

Kaywinnit didn’t seem too fussed, but did tell her best friend, Bella Goth the news.

Looks like Bella was more shocked then Kaywinnit.

Ah, they’re girls, Kaywinnit has been so busy with school I don’t think it has sunk in yet. She comes home and falls straight to sleep.

The week was over, but fate still had a few curve balls to throw at us. In the excitement of a new member on the way, we forgot that Kaywinnit’s birthday, so we didn’t throw her a party, but I think she didn’t mind. We got her a cake and she was more then happy to celebrate with the family. She rolled the traits ambitious and brave.

The weekend was filled with renovations, well, Hank did the renovating, I tended the garden. Upstairs was transformed from a study into a new room for Kaywinnit and her butterfly collection.

That’s a rather impressive collection, don’t you mind having them in the house?

Not at all, its nice she has hobbies to keep her busy and away from the boys. She’s in highschool now, you know.

Yes I know.

While Kay was at school, baby decided it was time to come, I got changed and called Hank down, but he seemed out of sorts, so I had to drive.

A few short hours passed and we had a little baby boy, Joss Dowsey. He rolled the ‘evil’ trait, he has his fathers eyes and my hair.. I was so exited when we arrived home. But Hank seemed less enthused, and stayed outside for a while.

That’s not good..

Oh you’re just being paranoid. Things were still okay…sort of. Hank is still looking for work, but doesn’t really –look-. He has mostly just been playing in the park for tips, which brings in about 200 simoleans a day.

Well that’s not so bad.

Yeah, it was okay. But he was spending so much time away from home and hardly payed any attention to Kaywinnit, and none at all to Joss. I was so busy at work I had to hire help to keep the place up to scratch.

Hank wasn’t interested in anything, I had to do everything, from potty training to teaching him to walk. Hank just sits around. He’s even stopped shaving and getting dressed.

Well that’s not fair, Joss is his kid too… Isn’t he?

YES! But I needed to find out what was happening to him. Kaywinnit was at school, so I put Joss down to sleep and went to talk to Hank upstairs.

I wish I hadn’t. The next words out of Hanks mouth left me stunned.

“Its over!”

As I stood in shock, he told me that he wanted to travel the world with his new band.

And to add salt to my fresh wounds, he was also getting back together with Pauline, she just happened to be in the band, also.

I was furious. I told him to get out and that I didn’t want to ever see him again.

Way to get a back bone!

I wish I didn’t though. He did leave, with out even saying goodbye to Kaywinnit or Joss.

Kaywinnit came home to find me in the bathroom crying. She told me that everything would be okay, and that I was better off with out him

I slept in her bed that night. Mine still smelt of him, it reminded me too much of what I just lost.

Kaywinnit slept on the couch. She’s such a good kid.

Well. After that rollercoaster ride I think we should leave Elsa to rest a while and to clear her head. What will be in store for the Dowsey’s next time? Has Hank really left for good? How will Elsa cope with an evil toddler? Will Kaywinnit’s butterflies escape and wreak more havoc on this poor household? Only time will tell. Stay tuned for the next chapter in the Dowsey Legacy!
